Succulents

Succulents are the designer’s accent of choice for arid and contemporary schemes — sculptural, near-indestructible and almost free of irrigation once established. This group holds the architectural rosettes of Agave, the structural columns of Yucca and cacti, the soft grey Aloe, and the caudex drama of the flowering Desert Rose (Adenium). They give a scheme instant character in gravel gardens, rockeries, feature pots and xeriscape beds, and they perform where almost nothing else will — full sun, sharp drainage, saline soil and long gaps between watering.
