The Sidr is one of the region’s great native survivors — a tough, productive, deeply rooted tree with a long history in Arabian culture and medicine. Evergreen, dense and dependable, it gives genuine shade and habitat on minimal water, making it a cornerstone of serious native and water-wise planting.
It is exceptionally well adapted to Gulf conditions: highly drought- and salt-tolerant, comfortable on treated water and poor soils, and resilient in exposed positions where imported species fail. It also produces the prized Sidr honey, adding real ecological and cultural value to a scheme.
Like the Ghaf, good semi-mature Sidr is in strong demand for civic, developer and afforestation projects, so early reservation pays off. We grow it at volume, supplying well-formed, acclimatised specimens site-ready for native, ESG-aligned and habitat-positive landscapes across the UAE.
